Anyone wants to know and participate in the events that are taking place in their city or neighbourhood together with other residents?, kas notiek pašu pilsētā vai apkaim??
To receive timely news and, together with other neighbors to speak up, if the developers force construction, to propose a property exchange in your Quarter, to learn, that three blocks away, according to several friends' comments a cool singing circle for children opened and the first visit is free of charge, to clarify, which active organizations and individuals are operating in the vicinity, to explore interesting cycling routes around Āgenskalns street, to share your own routes for cycling tours, to report cases of corruption or an old courtyard of the street, which should be renovated,to discover the hidden treasures of local area, parks, interesting websites, good pubs or cafes. These are some of the ideas and needs, initiated by the portal first ideaCamp 40 participants – residents, journalists, academics, Riga NGO activists, Riga City Council staff, as well as other city residents. Any ideas applied talcum see GoMap talkas idea of building the portal page.
Innovative resident portal GoMap Riga, where anyone can easily participate in the ongoing around them – “-”, is a live city map of Riga and later other cities, which was made by us and our friends. The first ideaCamp event devoted to development of this resident site took place on Wednesday November 25, Providus Albert Street premises and was attended by 20 participants.
Participants applied with their own ideas, made their idea profiles during the event and presented those in short, provided critique of each other's ideas, and divided into groups , to develop the necessary facilities for the most important directions of the portal – opportunities for cyclists, neighborhoods' mutual help system , culture and initiatives, construction and the Riga City Council Information. Also, it was suggested to talk about the portal title in Latvian.
Let's continue to build this website together – with people, NGO, experts and government representatives. In my view, the need for a variety of, people living in the same city and their cooperation is a key success, that the first ideaCamp proves. Talkas thank all participants for sharing ideas and jointly working to improve the work done!
We create this blog, to open a portal behind all, who wish to participate. Participate in your ideas, needs or comments, so that we can build their town better together!
